Mr. Payne (STEAM)

Hello! My name is Jonathan Payne, and I am the STEAM Lab teacher here at Lackland Elementary. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from St. Mary’s University right here in San Antonio, Texas.

I started my career as a Math Teacher in 2009. I've mostly taught Math since then, but have had the pleasure of teaching other subjects as well. In 2017 I transitioned into being a technology teacher, and in 2023, we transitioned the technology class into a STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art Math) Lab. I've always had a passion for this content, and it's a real pleasure being able to share that passion with our Lackland students. As a STEAM Lab teacher, I strive to give our students a foundational understanding of the engineering design process that will help them throughout their lives.
