Hi! My name is Mrs. Angela Barrera, and I am so excited to be part of Lackland Elementary's family! More importantly, I am THRILLED to be your child's Kindergarten teacher! It's going to be a fun year filled with lots of learning and new adventures, and I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us. I want to know ALL about your child, but first, I'll tell you a few things about myself.

I was born and raised in McAllen, Texas and graduated from Rowe High School. I attended Texas State University in San Marcos for college (Eat 'em Up, Cats!), and I started my teaching career in 2012 at IDEA Carver Academy with IDEA Public Schools in Kindergarten. I moved to Lackland Elementary in 2016. Teaching Kindergarten is the best job in the world!
