Pre-K Students Visit High School Nutrition Class to Learn about Whole Grains

This is the image for the news article titled Pre-K Students Visit High School Nutrition Class to Learn about Whole Grains The pre-K 4 students visited the High School Nutrition Class to learn about whole grains.  They listened to the book Whole Grain Choo Choo Train and learned why it is important to make half your grains whole grains.  Some of the foods they sampled were brown rice, corn tortillas, eggs in a nest (with whole wheat bread), oatmeal, and whole wheat pasta salad.  Students continued to work on their placemat by gluing whole grains onto the proper MyPlate section.  Next week they will be finishing up their plate as they will learn about proteins.
