Lackland ISD Recognizes the Month of the Military Child

This is the image for the news article titled Lackland ISD Recognizes the Month of the Military Child     Military Children are our business at Lackland Independent School District.  Although we celebrate their contributions every day, we also participate in the opportunity to recognize them in April, the Month of the Military Child.  April has been recognized as the Month of the Military Child since 1986.  This month we join the nation in recognizing the significant and unique contributions and sacrifices that our military children make on behalf of our country.  Throughout the district, activities will take place to show each child the important role they play in our community.  We thank our military families who participated in Purple Up activities on Thursday, April 6, 2017, by showering our students with shouts of praise, applause and cheers to let them know they matter.   There will be other opportunities to wear purple, the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, throughout the month.  Other activities have included red, white, and blue day, camouflage day, superhero day, and boot day.  Students will have the opportunity to receive special prizes throughout the month from our community partners and Parent, Teacher, and Student Organization (PTSO).
